Key Responsibilities:
The CFO will collaborate with the owners and executive team to drive financial strategy and operational success. Primary responsibilities include:
- CFO Successor Development: Partner closely with the outgoing CFO to ensure a seamless transition into the company’s financial leadership role.
- Strategic Financial Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across multiple entities within the family-owned organization.
- Taxation Expertise: Oversee all tax-related processes, including strategy development, compliance, and collaboration with external advisors, ensuring optimization and risk mitigation.
- Financial Statement Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple entities, delivering actionable insights to the leadership team.
- Accounting and Auditing: Leverage a strong accounting/auditing background to maintain accurate financial records, oversee internal controls, and ensure timely closings.
- Project Profitability & Risk Management: Manage job costing, subcontractor/vendor compliance, contract reviews, and overall financial risk assessment.
- Cross-Industry Engagement: Work across a wide range of business fields within the organization, providing financial leadership tailored to each entity’s needs.
- Team Development: Mentor and support the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in construction or related industries.
- Deep expertise in accounting, auditing, and taxation with a proven ability to manage complex financial structures.
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with experience working with senior management.
- Strong business acumen and experience across diverse business fields is preferred.
