A leading wood products manufacturer in Northeast Washington is seeking a Boiler & Kiln Supervisor to oversee kiln drying operations, boiler systems, environmental compliance, and team leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial operations professional who enjoys leading teams, driving process improvements, and making a direct impact on production, safety, and efficiency.

Relocation Assistance Available – For qualified candidates relocating to the area, temporary housing may be available for 3 to 6 months, making the transition to beautiful Northeast Washington even easier.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Boiler & Kiln team
  • Promote and model a strong safety culture
  • Oversee kiln drying operations to ensure quality, productivity, and inventory flow
  • Manage boiler systems to support plant heating, lumber drying, and power generation needs
  • Ensure environmental compliance and operational reliability
  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop team members
  • Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to maximize uptime and efficiency
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and corrective actions to address operational challenges
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 6S, visual management, A3 thinking, and daily improvement processes
  • Conduct regular Gemba walks and participate in daily operational meetings
  • Respond to equipment issues and emergencies to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate kiln loading practices and inventory management to maintain product quality

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in boiler operations, water treatment, or a related industrial environment
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Lumber drying or kiln operation experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of environmental compliance requirements
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, coaching, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lead teams and build strong working relationships across departments
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Specialized training or coursework in boiler technology is a plus

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to safety policies and procedures
