This customer-focused role is vital to daily bank operations, serving customers by accurately processing a variety of account transactions. The position involves handling deposits, loan payments, check cashing, savings withdrawals, and managing night and mail deposits. Additionally, the role includes selling cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, and Series E savings bonds, ensuring a smooth and positive banking experience for every customer.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Process daily transactions including night drop bags, deposits, withdrawals, telephone transfers, cashier’s checks, money orders, loan payments, and currency exchanges (including Canadian currency)
  • Verify and balance daily reports and machines such as Transaction Management System (TMS), Visa machine, coin machine, ATM, and teller drawer; roll coins and scan teller work
  • Manage account activities including closing checking and savings accounts, redeeming savings bonds, and entering monetary instruments in BAM+
  • File required regulatory reports, including Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), levies, IRS and state judgments, and coordinate with process servers
  • Handle daily mail sorting and processing, and coordinate with Vault Teller for buying and selling money
  • Provide Saturday drive-up support approximately once per month

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; prior teller experience preferred
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and treat all customers and employees fairly
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and basic bookkeeping skills with a solid understanding of banking fundamentals
  • Adaptable and quick learner, able to follow bank policies firmly and generate new ideas to improve processes
  • Proficient with office equipment and computer software, including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, 10-Key, scanners, and teller machines
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screenings
