Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce OSHA-compliant safety policies, procedures, and programs across the organization
  • Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire orientation, forklift and crane operation, lockout/tagout, fire and weather safety, and ongoing employee re-training
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, enforce preventative measures, and monitor compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirements
  • Investigate workplace accidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare detailed incident reports
  • Review and update safety protocols regularly; identify process inefficiencies and recommend timely improvements
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safety during repairs, installations, and other potentially hazardous tasks

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or a related scientific field, preferred other combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Five years of related experience
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies and OSHA knowledge required
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Working knowledge in producing reports
  • Emergency First Responder certificate preferred, required once employed
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening
