Essential Functions and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and enforce OSHA-compliant safety policies, procedures, and programs across the organization
- Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire orientation, forklift and crane operation, lockout/tagout, fire and weather safety, and ongoing employee re-training
- Conduct regular risk assessments, enforce preventative measures, and monitor compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirements
- Investigate workplace accidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare detailed incident reports
- Review and update safety protocols regularly; identify process inefficiencies and recommend timely improvements
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safety during repairs, installations, and other potentially hazardous tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or a related scientific field, preferred other combination of education and experience will be considered
- Five years of related experience
- Certificate in occupational health and safety preferred
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies and OSHA knowledge required
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Working knowledge of safety management information system
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Working knowledge in producing reports
- Emergency First Responder certificate preferred, required once employed
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening
