They’re looking for a Grade Setter/GPS Surveyor to join their growing team in Kalispell.
The Grade Setter/GPS Surveyor will ensure precision and accuracy on construction projects. This position is responsible for setting grade stakes, checking elevations, and working closely with surveyors and equipment operators to keep jobs on track. The role combines hands-on work such as shoveling, tamping, and operating small tools, with advanced use of GPS, LIDAR, and total station millimeter control technology.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Set grade stakes, check elevations, and ensure accurate alignment
- Work with surveyors and operators, signaling and calling corrections as needed
- Perform handwork to fix grade issues, including shoveling, tamping, and adjustments
- Assist with general labor tasks such as raking, moving materials, and wheelbarrow work
- Set up and move traffic control devices; operate small tools and equipment when required
- Conduct daily inspections, maintain documentation, and uphold all safety standards
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction or grade setting with GPS, LIDAR, and total station millimeter control tools
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical
- Physically capable of working in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, or snow)
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
- Reliable and safety-conscious on every job site
- High school diploma or GED required
