This position is responsible for reading and interpreting product specifications and work orders, operating shop equipment safely, and ensuring finished products meet quality and production standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adapting to changing priorities and production schedules. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with shop leads and team members.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Read, evaluate and respond to product specifications, drawings and perform normal mathematical calculations
  • Safely operate shop equipment – power and hand tools (i.e. chop saws, drill presses, iron worker, punch machine, disc grinders, belt sanders and hand drills.)
  • Inspect manufactured products to ensure product specifications and quality control requirements are maintained
  • Work well under limited supervision and be flexible to working with others, adapting to changing work priorities while meeting deadlines and schedule changes
  • Review work order with shop leads to evaluate scheduling, raw material and manpower needs
  • Review work order bill of materials for accuracy to ensure cost accounting and inventory valuation accuracy

Qualifications:
  • On time and consistent work attendance
  • Strong work ethic with pride in work being produced
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and engage in frequent bending, pushing and lifting
