TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER / TEAM LEAD

Professional engineering firm in Missoula, MT is looking to add a Technology Engineer / Team Lead to their growing team. This firm is a dynamic team of structural, mechanical, electrical and technology engineers that provides full spectrum building engineering solutions to clients throughout the Western United States. Their approach to all of their projects as a single building system allows them to leverage the latest 3D design and analytical technologies to deliver innovative solutions that exceed client expectations and define excellence.

Technology Engineer must reside in or near Missoula, MT.  Missoula is a highly sought after community located halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.  It provides great summer and winter recreation, excellent schools, a thriving downtown, and all of the other benefits of a university town.

This position serves as a pivotal role in client relations, ensuring quality design and project deliverables that align with exceptional client experience. Technology Engineer may serve as technical lead, project designer, or task manager on projects and be responsible for engineering and design tasks of increased complexity and impact.

Essential Functions:
  • Apply engineering principles and standards to perform and direct engineering tasks.
  • Design and direct the design of project elements.
  • Develop construction and bid documents.
  • Construction administration process and directing on-site construction observation.
  • Quality assurance and control review to ensure compliance with client quality standards.
  • Participate and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and clients.
  • Supervise and develop staff to meet established objectives, including utilization, task performance and quality controls, and build team morale.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate advanced design competency in low voltage systems engineering.
  • Completion of project tasks.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project elements including client management.
  • Prepare and review written reports and other documents.
  • Assist with preparing for and facilitating public and client meetings.
  • Assist with scope, fee, and schedule development.
  • Market to existing or potential clients to obtain work.
  • Engineer of Record for deliverables.
  • Proposal and interview development.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in related engineering discipline 
  • Experience using Visio or other appropriate CAD solution.
  • MS Office skills including Work and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motorized vehicles.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Project management experience, including CPM or PERT scheduling and budget track is a plus.


Technology Engineer will have 5 years of experience in low voltage systems engineering experience along with proven project and client relationship management skills to lead their growing regional practice.  Technology Engineer should have supervisory experience with an equal mix of technical experience, business acumen and people skills.
