A locally owned construction company is a trusted provider of drywall and general contracting services throughout the Flathead Valley and is seeking a Project Estimator to join their team. With a strong focus on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, they specialize in drywall installation, finishing, and repair, while also supporting a variety of residential and light commercial construction projects.
This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and takeoffs for drywall and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction processes, strong analytical skills, and experience using estimating software.
Competitive Wage: $25 to $35/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Review plans, specs, and bid documents to develop accurate estimates
- Perform material takeoffs for drywall, framing, insulation, and related scopes
- Use Bluebeam and/or PlanSwift for digital takeoffs and measurements
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals
- Collaborate with teams, track bid timelines, and identify cost risks/value engineering opportunities
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3+ years of construction experience, preferably in drywall or related trades
- Experience with Bluebeam and/or PlanSwift strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills
- Effective communication, time management, and teamwork abilities
- Previous estimating experience, familiarity with local codes, and working with subcontractors/suppliers preferred
