A locally owned excavation and demolition company serving the Flathead Valley is seeking a Heavy Equipment and Dump Truck Operator. With a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and efficient project completion, the team supports a variety of construction and land development projects throughout Northwest Montana.
This Heavy Equipment and Dump Truck Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in excavation work, including septic system installation and drain field construction, and take pride in producing high-quality work.
Starting Wage: $30 to $38, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and other machinery to support excavation and site development projects
- Perform excavation for septic systems, drain fields, and underground utilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials including gravel, soil, and debris
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections on trucks and equipment
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications to ensure accurate work
- Collaborate with crew members while following company safety policies and DOT regulations to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience, preferably in excavation
- Experience with septic systems, drain fields, or underground utility work preferred
- Strong understanding of site preparation, grading, and reading site plans
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
