A growing luxury design and fabrication company in Bozeman, MT is seeking an Estimator/Designer to join its creative and production team. This company specializes in crafting custom, high-end architectural elements including fireplaces, elevators, cabinetry, and metal installations for discerning residential and commercial clients.
This role is primarily focused on estimating and cost development, while also supporting the design process through shop drawings and 3D modeling. The Estimator/Designer will analyze architectural plans, develop detailed project budgets, and collaborate closely with designers, engineers, production staff, and vendors to ensure projects are accurately priced and efficiently executed from concept through fabrication.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of design and construction, with a strong emphasis on estimating accuracy and project feasibility.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, time, and project budgets for luxury residential and commercial projects
- Review and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications to perform accurate takeoffs
- Analyze and organize project cost data and monitor actual costs against estimates
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to refine project scope and pricing
- Manage bid and tendering processes, including vendor pricing and subcontractor coordination
- Develop detailed shop drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks to support fabrication and project execution
- Translate design concepts into precise fabrication-ready documentation
- Review and refine drawings based on production feedback and technical requirements
- Maintain project timelines, documentation accuracy, and cost control measures
- Contribute to improving estimating workflows, design processes, and file management systems
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Strong experience with construction estimating, cost analysis, and blueprint interpretation • Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
- Experience creating fabrication or architectural shop drawings
- Background in high-end architectural elements, millwork, or metal fabrication preferred
- Familiarity with financial tracking, budgeting, and P&L metrics
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to occasionally travel to job sites and meetings
