This entry-level position supports shop welding and fabrication operations by assisting in the production of welded miscellaneous and frame assemblies. The role involves learning and performing TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene welding, reading basic engineering drawings, measuring and cutting materials, and safely using common shop tools. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to develop welding and fabrication skills while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
Wage: $18 to $21/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday through Thursday – 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 3 Day Weekends!
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Assist with TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene welding operations using common shop tools
- Learn to read and follow basic engineering drawings and work instructions
- Measure materials accurately using standard hand and shop measuring tools
- Help cut and prepare metal stock for welded assemblies and frames
- Support fabrication of simple welded components under guidance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Understands how individual responsibilities contribute to team goals and coordinate effectively with other departments
- Identifies and resolves common work-related issues independently, following established procedures
- Comfortable with extended standing and regular physical activity such as bending, reaching, and lifting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
