A Missoula-based insurance agency since 1981, known for their exceptional reputation in quality, service, and efficiency is looking for an EDI Specialist for a 6-month contract. The EDI Specialist manages, troubleshoots, and maintains files for importing and extracting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Using tools like GoAnywhere MFT, SSMS, SQL, and other programming languages, this role supports programmers, resolves file errors, conducts testing, and maintains EDI applications. The ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, some programming experience, and can problem-solve independently.
Wage: $80,000/annually
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Participate in Agile development activities including story grooming, sprint and PI planning, standups, demos, retrospectives, and code reviews
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain EDI applications, integrations, automation workflows, and supporting services
- Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions following established engineering, DevOps, and quality standards
- Use SQL Server and other information systems to analyze data, troubleshoot data integrity issues, and develop ad-hoc and production information deliverables
- Collaborate with end users and IT teams to understand business needs, improve system reliability, maintain data security, and resolve technical issues
- Analyze EDI processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement while supporting infrastructure upgrades and software testing
Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant systems support experience, or equivalent combination
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server databases and Transact-SQL, with experience supporting systems, integrations, and data-driven applications
- Experience with RESTful APIs, EDI transactions, file transfers, automation platforms, Git/Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices; healthcare EDI knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, Outlook, standard office procedures, and related technology; experience with GenAI or agentic AI solutions is a plus
- Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and meet deadlines
- Professional, dependable, and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure, maintain privacy and confidentiality, and follow appropriate security and compliance standards
