The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the hotel and its staff and has commercial accountability for planning, organizing and directing all hotel services and departments, including front-of-house (reception, concierge, reservation, convention), banqueting, F&B, engineering and housekeeping.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Develop and manage hotel operating budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines, and overseeing payroll, expenses, and overtime approval
- Sell the hotel to potential guests, maintain community relationships, and engage with convention officers and VIPs to enhance local business exposure
- Oversee hotel operations by ensuring facilities are maintained, rooms are inspected, and employee performance is monitored, addressing any issues as needed
- Lead and train department heads, ensuring alignment with company policies, delegating responsibilities, and improving staff performance and morale
- Implement safety protocols, inspect the property for hazardous conditions, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory, approve requisitions and purchases, and collaborate on competitive pricing strategies to maximize revenue and maintain high-quality standards
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years’ management experience
- 3 to 5 years’ previous experience as a hotel GM or Assistant GM, preferred
- Convention center experience a bonus
- CHA designation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality management preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal relationship and management skills required
- Exceptional management, problem solving, and marketing skills and the ability to prioritize and organize work, meet deadlines and multi-task
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts, including mornings or evenings, weekends and holidays
