A leading hospitality group in northwest Montana is seeking a Director of IT to oversee their IT operations and lead the department across multiple properties. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day support, maintenance, and performance of all company computer systems, including desktops, servers, networks, and peripherals. You’ll lead the IT team in installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and systems to ensure smooth and secure operations. The IT Director also plans and organizes departmental activities, resolves complex technical issues, and provides guidance, training, and support to employees as needed.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Oversee all network administration, system security, disaster recovery, and end-user support to ensure reliable and secure IT operations
  • Lead and manage all IT projects, including hardware and software acquisition, installation, upgrades, and system integrations
  • Develop, document, and maintain IT policies, procedures, goals, and system documentation aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Assess technology needs, evaluate emerging technologies, and make strategic recommendations to executive leadership, including the CFO
  • Ensure compliance with federal technology and security requirements while maintaining adequate system capacity, performance, and continuity planning
  • Supervise and develop IT Department staff including the Network Administrator, Web Developer, and Support Technician through clear communication, cross-training, performance oversight, and a strong customer-service focus

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 5 years of progressively responsible IT management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 12 years
  • Proven experience selecting, managing, and working with information systems vendors, suppliers, and technology partners
  • Strong ability to budget, plan, organize, document, and manage IT projects while maintaining accurate records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, research, and analytical skills to assess and resolve complex technical issues
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT concepts, best practices, and policies, with the ability to lead, train, and mentor IT staff
