A local assisted living facility is hiring a full-time and part-time Dining Room Assistants to join their busy team. Essential Functions and Duties:
- Learn and follow food service routines and dietary procedures quickly and efficiently
- Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals to residents
- Strip returned trays, operate the dishwasher, and monitor dishwasher water temperature and chlorine concentration
- Prepare snacks and nourishments as directed
- Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and leave the kitchen in a sanitary condition at the end of each shift, including sweeping and moping kitchen and dining area floors, and taking out trash and garbage in a timely manner
- Store groceries in a clean, safe, and organized manner
- Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting preferred but not required
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handlers' Certificate
- Ability to read and follow recipes and technical instructions
- Basic understanding of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for practical kitchen use
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to pass a background screening
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and to be on feet all day
- Sun-Sat availability – weekends and holidays
