A well-established and fully integrated forest product company, proudly rooted in the Flathead Valley, is looking for a 1st Class Boiler Operator for their Power Plant. Their operation encompasses everything from sustainably managing their own timberland to running their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.  They believe their recipe for success is their commitment to healthy forests, healthy families and a healthy community.

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a high pressure, high-temperature steam boiler fueled by wood waste. This role ensures optimal control of steam pressure, fuel input, water treatment, and emissions systems. The Operator also oversees the operation and maintenance of a steam turbine generator and coordinates lumber kiln steam operations to meet production demands. Works closely with other operators, Power Plant Technicians, and Kiln Operators.

Wage: Depending on Experience,
 if the individual holds a 2nd class Montana State Boiler License, starting at $30.81/hour day shift and $31.26/hour swing —  If they hold a 1st class license wage starts at $32.92/hour day shift and $33.37/hour swing shift
Schedule:
  • Rotating Shifts – 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.  and 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • 12 hour shifts, lunch and breaks are paid

Qualifications:
  • Valid 1st Class Boiler Operator License preferred
  • Front-end loader experience, strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of steam generation, turbines, pumps, and auxiliary systems preferred

  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Attendance and punctuality are crucial to this role; individuals must be able to commit to and work the rotating shift schedule
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
