The Calibration Technician IV is a senior technical specialist responsible for calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing precision test and measurement equipment. This role handles complex calibration issues, supports process improvements, and provides technical guidance to other technicians while working independently and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Perform complex calibration, verification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of precision test and measurement equipment across multiple technologies
  • Troubleshoot calibration failures, equipment malfunctions, and measurement discrepancies using advanced diagnostic techniques
  • Evaluate equipment condition, maintain measurement traceability, and recommend repairs, replacement, or retirement as needed
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure compliance with ISO 17025, NIST traceability, FDA, GMP, and company quality standards
  • Support audits, investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement of calibration processes and equipment
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to other technicians while supporting new equipment, procedures, and calibration technologies

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Technology, Metrology, or related field preferred; high school diploma required
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in calibration, instrumentation, metrology, or a related technical field
  • Advanced knowledge of calibration principles, measurement science, and electrical, mechanical, pressure, temperature, dimensional, and electronic instrumentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, procedures, and manufacturer documentation
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, NIST traceability, FDA, GMP, and quality system requirements, with strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills with experience using calibration software, CMMS, and Microsoft Office; ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform hands-on precision work
