The Structural Engineer PE will work on a variety of projects, including subdivisions, storm and sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement and concrete design systems. Collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, clients, contractors, and public agencies, this role combines technical expertise with innovative problem-solving. Occasional site visits and client meetings provide hands-on involvement and strengthen project relationships, making this a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases
  • Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions
  • Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers
  • Ensure structural designs meet company quality standards
  • Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads
  • Respond to contractors during the construction process

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 5+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Licensed Structural Professional Engineer (PE); SE designation preferred but not required
  • Proven design experience with wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, value engineering, and industry best practices
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently or within a team
  • Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and mentorship skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and structural design software (Enercalc, RISA, Simpson, Woodworks preferred)
