Production Manager
Great Falls, MT

A leading industrial fabricator is looking to add a Production Manager to their team. With their state-of-the-art facility in Great Falls, Montana, they are committed to safety, quality, and timely delivery in every project we undertake. 


The Production Manager is responsible for directing and monitoring fabrication shop activities, fabrication progress, and necessary resources to meet the production schedule and metrics daily.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with staff to resolve potential production problems, continuously improve production, and foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Understand, interpret, and communicate project requirements as defined in the fabrication instructions, ITP, job specifications, and WPS
  • Establish and support workflow policies that enhance efficiency without compromising safety
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality of production operations
  • Effectively manage and utilize foreman to oversee a workforce of 100+ employees
  • Employ good decision making and critical thinking skills to ensure the smooth flow of production activities
  • Ability to work through HR related situations such as hiring, disciplinary, and termination
  • Make decisions regarding priority, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary and time constraints
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field
  • Knowledge of AISC, AWS, and CWB codes and standards
  • Knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • 7-10 years of experience in structural steel or a closely related field
  • AWS and CWB certifications preferred
  • Thorough understanding of FCAW welding processes and blueprint interpretation
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles/Kaizen events
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
