Estimator/Project Manager

A local general contracting company in the Flathead Valley, dedicated to building the Montana dream, is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join this great team. This position plays a crucial role in the construction process providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring that projects are completed within budget as well as helping oversee the project to make sure everything is tracking properly.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers to build comprehensive project plans that align with client expectations
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best rates for materials and services
  • Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office and Procore to streamline the estimating process
  • Monitor project costs throughout to ensure adherence to budget constraints and implement cost control measures
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information that will inform estimates
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project scope, timelines, and any changes in estimates
  • Stay updated on industry trends, building codes (including NEC), and best practices in construction management

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the electrical industry is required
  • Proficiency in using estimating software such as Procore is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices related to construction projects
  • Familiarity with construction site operations and the ability to interpret technical documents accurately
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms for projects
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure precise estimations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
