The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in managing the organization’s payables across multiple entities, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and payments are completed on time. This position also supports vendor communications and upholds compliance with established policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
Starting Wage: $22.69/hour + depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time – Short-term Assignment
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Receive, review, and route invoices for proper approval and coding
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation as needed
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with internal teams
- Process accounts payable batches accurately while preventing duplicate or incorrect payments
- Prepare and distribute payments, including checks
- Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors regarding account status and issues
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting or a comparable combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of computer experience, including data entry/10-key, database and spreadsheet use, report preparation, and document management
- 3 years of accounts payable experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality
