This established hospitality and tourism organization operates a variety of attractions, lodging, and guest experiences throughout the Flathead Valley. The Prep Cook will prepare ingredients and support the kitchen team with daily food preparation for breakfast, dinner, banquets, weddings, and special events. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and able to keep up in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining quality and organization.
Wage: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Part-time, with shifts needed most days – primarily evening shifts for dinner service, with occasional morning shifts for breakfast and special events
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Prepare ingredients and food items according to recipes and kitchen standards
- Complete daily prep to keep the kitchen stocked, organized, and ready for service
- Assist with food preparation for regular service, banquets, weddings, and special events
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area while following food safety standards
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and assist with cleaning and other kitchen duties
- Work with the kitchen team to complete prep accurately and on time and support daily operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Basic food preparation and knife skills with the ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices
- Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn and assist where needed
