A well-established construction and industrial services firm in northwest Montana is seeking a skilled Welder to join a dedicated team focused on heavy machinery installation, rebuilds, and custom fabrication projects. Known for delivering quality work in the sawmill and industrial sectors throughout the region and beyond, the company values craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting complex mechanical assemblies and on-site installations that keep projects on schedule and operating efficiently.
This hands-on role involves grinding, cutting, fitting, and rebuilding components based on engineered designs, as well as fabricating and welding parts to precise specifications. The ideal candidate is comfortable reading blueprints, following detailed instructions, and producing quality work in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position is well suited for a self-sufficient welder who takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and reliability.
Starting Wage: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Rebuild and repair sawmill equipment following engineered designs
- Grind, cut, fit, fabricate, and weld metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Perform steel and pipe welding as required
- Maintain quality standards and safe work practices
- Support equipment installation and rebuild projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven welding experience; sawmill experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and accurately replicate designs
- Strong fabrication and welding skills (certifications not required)
- Steel and pipe welding experience a plus
- Ability to pass a welding test interview
- Must provide own work boots, safety glasses, hand tools, and welding hood
