The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining both manual and CNC equipment to produce precision components that meet tight tolerances and quality standards. This position requires a hands-on professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be confident working with Mazak/Mazatrol and Fanuc controls, comfortable handling both short-run and production jobs, and committed to maintaining a safe, organized, and team-oriented work environment.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes using various holding methods (hard jaws, soft jaws, angle plates, fixture plates, etc.) to produce precision parts within specified tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tolerance requirements to ensure accurate setups and finished parts
- Check and edit CNC programs, verify offsets, and use MDI mode to prevent crashes and optimize cycle times
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other measuring tools to verify conformance and perform first-article checks
- Document setups, catalog fixtures, and maintain tools and work areas for repeatability and efficiency
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain production flow, troubleshoot machining issues, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience
- Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and G-code (including drilling, boring, and thread milling operations)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail
- Competent in basic math, fractions, and decimals; able to apply these skills in measurement and machining tasks
- Reliable team player with integrity, communication skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs
