Shipping and Receiving Associate 

An industry leader in timber design, engineering and manufacturing, with a state-of-the-art production facility in Columbia Falls, Montana, is hiring for their Shipping & Receiving department. While producing a high-quality product is essential, this manufacturing company values a people-centered environment.

The Shipping and Receiving Associates will accept and process inbound shipments, verify delivered items, unload trucks, process returns and load outbound trucks. Ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes and promptly resolving any problems or discrepancies.

Pay: $18 to $23/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Loading outbound trucks and unloading inbound trucks and box vans
  • Operate material handling equipment, forklift, etc.
  • As shipments of new lumber come into the yard, teams unload trucks, organize and store received items in appropriate areas
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure they match order and invoice criteria and inspect for damage
  • Process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items
  • Receive loading instructions, load trucks and verify the accuracy
  • Perform routine inspections on equipment, tools, and machines, and notify maintenance team and supervisor when maintenance is needed
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the yard
  • Handle and complete paperwork including bill of ladings and material consumption sheets

Qualifications:
  • Forklift certification preferred, but willing to train
  • A valid driver’s license, and clean driving record
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Familiarity with shipping/receiving practices and handling methods
  • High school diploma or equivalent
