As a Lumberyard Foreman, you are responsible for overseeing all yard operations, including supervising staff, managing equipment use and maintenance, coordinating truck schedules with dispatch, receiving deliveries, and maintaining a clean, organized yard. You ensure proper loading and unloading of customer, company, and supplier trucks, as well as the correct storage of materials. You lead and develop a strong yard team, motivating employees to meet company goals and deliver excellent customer service.

Essential Functions and Duties: 
  • Oversee Yard Operations: Ensure accurate order pulling, loading, equipment safety, and adherence to company policies for outgoing materials and sales tickets
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Maintain accurate inventory, report stock issues promptly, and supervise timely inventory counts and proper stock rotation
  • Team Supervision: Manage yard personnel schedules, approve timecards, coordinate training, provide performance feedback, and ensure safety compliance
  • Customer Service: Supervise yard interactions to ensure customer satisfaction, address complaints promptly, and identify sales opportunities
  • Facility Maintenance: Keep yard and warehouse clean and organized; ensure machinery, vehicles, and equipment are safe and properly maintained
  • Coordination & Communication: Work with sales and other departments to ensure smooth operations, and report returns or issues in a timely manner
