Lead Millwright 

A family-owned wood products manufacturer that has been in business 70 years is looking for a Lead Millwright to add to their tight knit team. With over 250 employees, they heavily believe in sustainable forestry, continuous improvement, and respect for people.  Located in beautiful Northeastern Washington it brings a charming small town feel and is a gateway to incredible recreation opportunities such as camping, fishing, hunting, boating, and lots of trails for UTV, snowmobiling, biking etc. It is a true four seasons destination.
 
The primary role of the Lead Millwright position is to maintain machine centers and equipment with a continued focus on safety, productivity, and training. The Company is looking for the highest-level skilled Millwrights to join and train their team. The desirable applicant will have a mindset of constant improvement and willingness to go above and beyond.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air & conveying systems
  • Perform all preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and welding repair tasks
  • Stick welding, electrical, and hydraulic repair
  • Heavy equipment and machinery repair
  • Performs mandatory visual inspection of the equipment and facilities before use
  • Know, Understand, and Apply the Lock-out Tag-out procedure
  • Learning and applying lean business practices
  • Fill out a maintenance request and Idea Cards when needed
  • Assist in training and mentoring of new employees
  • Troubleshoot all areas throughout the plant
  • Set tolerances and load bearings
  • Set and charge accumulators on hydraulic systems
  • Read and understand blueprints

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong computer, communication, planning and organization skills
  • Provide necessary tools for repair
  • Certified Millwright a plus
  • Ensure safe work practices & follow safety procedures
  • Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record 
  • Ability to streamline processes and cut waste within area of responsibility
  • Lean techniques and experience preferred 
  • Must be 18+ years old to work in an industrial sawmill environment
  • Must have HS Diploma/GED
  • Must be able to continuously stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders safely.  The weight required to be lifted each normal workday may occasionally exceed fifty (50) pounds at a time
  • Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.  However, having a criminal record will not automatically eliminate you from consideration for the job. 
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and pre-employment physical exam

Schedule:
  • Shift work with one weekend day required
  • Full time with career growth opportunities
