The IT Support Technician will provide hands-on support for the organization’s technology systems and infrastructure. This role will troubleshoot technical issues, support system upgrades and implementations, monitor system performance, and help maintain security standards. The technician also responds to end-user support requests and ensures timely documentation and resolution of technology-related concerns.
Wage: $30 to $35/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Overtime as needed
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Maintain and support LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networks, virtual environments, and associated hardware
- Monitor and manage network performance, data backups, server updates, and environmental systems (battery backups/server room conditions)
- Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues, system errors, and end-user technical support requests
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications, workstations, IP phones, and inventory systems
- Perform preventative and corrective hardware/software maintenance while maintaining accurate configuration documentation
- Provide professional customer service, maintain safety compliance, communicate with leadership as needed, and participate in rotating after-hours support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Security or related field preferred
- 1 to 4 years of experience in an IT support or infrastructure role
- Hands-on experience with secure network switching/routing, cabling, firewalls, routers, and gateway devices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft OS/server technologies, server virtualization, SANs, RDS, and VDI
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, wireless protocols, backup/disaster recovery, and patch management processes
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and maintain effective working relationships; CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications preferred
- Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Be organized, accurate and exercise strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings
