As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of district property and equipment, ensuring all work complies with state and federal standards. This includes maintaining the distribution and collection systems, such as mains, septic tanks, curb stops, fire hydrants, valves, meters, out readers, and related infrastructure. Duties also include building and vehicle upkeep, mowing, janitorial tasks, and other maintenance as assigned.
Wage: $18 to $20/hour, plus on-call wage compensation
Schedule: Full-time, seasonal position
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Fix and maintain district property and equipment, making sure systems follow state and federal rules
- Keep records of repairs and maintenance
- Perform taps on water and sewer mains
- Recommend equipment and supplies that need to be ordered or purchased
- Inspection of all water and sewer installations
- Act as Field Supervisor in the absence of the Field Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Class 2 Certification in Water Distribution
- Class 3 Water Treatment Certification
- Must attend schools and workshops to stay current with required continuing education credits
- Valid Montana driver’s license
- Ability to crawl, climb, squat and lift up to 100 pounds
