We currently have an opportunity for a Field Mechanic to join a Kalispell team supporting highway projects throughout Montana. This position does require travel but when not on the road you would help support our local operations.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts
  • Maintain, repair and trouble shoot problems on all road construction equipment and trucks.  This would include paving equipment, rollers, loaders, water trucks, tractors/belly dump trailers, and brooms
  • Troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems and identifying appropriate repairs
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; completing winterization procedures
  • Ability to use software/technical programs
  • Maintains equipment records by annotating services and repairs
  • Work closely with other shop personnel, management and fleet administrators

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience strongly preferred
  • Associates or Bachelors in Diesel Technology or another related field strongly preferred
  • Experience in Construction is preferred
  • Must have own basic tool collection
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed 
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. and 25 lbs. regularly
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and physical
