Controller

Specialty Manufacturer near Missoula is looking for a dynamic and experienced Controller to join their elite team.  Controller will help scale the finance and accounting department and will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Inventory Cost Management: Oversee and reconcile inventory transactions.
  • A/R, A/P and Payroll: Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the finance department.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Support management with special projects and initiatives as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in QBO and FishBowl Inventory preferred.
  • Experience working through NetSuite or ERP implementation a huge plus!
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Experience in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
