The onsite Medical Coder supports medical, dental, and behavioral health departments by ensuring accurate coding, claims processing, and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate has medical coding experience, knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and familiarity with EHR systems and insurance billing, along with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Perform medical coding for medical, dental, and behavioral health services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Review documentation and electronic health records (EHR) for accurate coding and billing
- Process insurance claims, payments, denials, corrections, and follow-up
- Work with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance payers
- Assist with accounts receivable and resolve outstanding billing issues
- Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and collaborate with providers and billing teams to resolve coding discrepancies
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of medical coding experience preferred, ideally in an FQHC or ambulatory care setting
- Medical Coding certification preferred or currently in progress
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
- Experience with EHR systems and medical billing software
- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance billing
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
