Heavy Equipment and Dump Truck Operator (CDL-A Required)


A locally owned excavation and demolition company serving the Flathead Valley is seeking a Heavy Equipment and Dump Truck Operator. With a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and efficient project completion, the team supports a variety of construction and land development projects.

This Heavy Equipment and Dump Truck Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in excavation work, including septic system installation and drain field construction, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Starting Wage: $30/hour, depending on experience – with opportunities for wage increases based on demonstrated proficiency and performance.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and other machinery to support excavation and site development projects
  • Perform excavation for septic systems, drain fields, and underground utilities
  • Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials including gravel, soil, and debris
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections on trucks and equipment
  • Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications to ensure accurate work
  • Collaborate with crew members while following company safety policies and DOT regulations to complete projects efficiently

Qualifications:
  • Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record
  • Minimum 2 years of recent heavy equipment operation experience, preferably in excavation
  • Experience with septic systems, drain fields, or underground utility work preferred
  • Strong understanding of site preparation, grading, and reading site plans
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
