The Resident Engagement Assistant plays an important role in creating a vibrant, enjoyable environment for residents. This position helps to plan and lead a variety of activities and programs including social events, educational opportunities, games, community outings, and special celebrations that promote connection, engagement, and overall well-being.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and documenting activities and programs as directed by the supervisor
  • Actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of each resident’s preferences, interests, limitations, and necessary adaptations to ensure meaningful participation in both group and individual activities

Qualifications:
  • Experience and understanding of special populations, including geriatrics, individuals with dementia, and those with physical disabilities
  • Minimum of one year of experience in recreation and/or activities within an assisted living setting (may be substituted with additional education or related experience with approval from the Director of Resident Services)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
