A family-owned wood products manufacturer that has been in business 70 years is looking for an Electrical Automation Programmer to add to their tight knit team. This position is responsible for planning, installing, testing, and repairing electrical and electronic systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), within a lumber manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and calibration on production and plant electronic equipment, controls, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and implement corrective actions for electrical and control system issues
- Program, update, and maintain plant programmable controllers and related automation systems
- Work with Allen Bradley PLCs, Logix 5000 systems, and related control circuitry, motors, and instrumentation
- Design, develop, and implement control system programs and instrumentation to improve efficiency and automation
- Read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for system setup and repair
- Train and assist operators and staff in equipment operation, control systems, and troubleshooting procedures
Qualifications:
- Electrical Certification or related degree preferred; BS in Engineering a plus, with 2+ years of experience in electrical design, logic controls, and project management within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix; experience with Siemens Ti, FactoryTalk, WonderWare, Visual Basic, and AutoCAD a plus
- Skilled in PLC programming (Ladder and Function Block Diagram); additional programming knowledge (Structured Text, C/C++, etc.) beneficial
- Experience with motion controls, VFDs (Allen Bradley PowerFlex), servos, field wiring, and relay logic
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and process improvement skills; familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma practices a plus
- Must meet physical requirements for industrial work, be 18+, and successfully pass background, drug, and physical screenings
