Our client is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator. This job would involve extensive travel for a few weeks at a time to job sites across the Western US. They work on New Construction, Remodels, Capital Projects, and Facilities Maintenance of big box retail stores. 

Must be based out of either Montana, Colorado, or Arizona.

Traveling Construction Estimator:

  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years Construction Estimating, or related field experience is required
  • Familiarity with Sage Estimating 
  • Should be well versed in Takeoffs and commercial estimating
  • Construction Experience/Knowledge is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:                         

  • Time will be split between an office environment, with little noise and a controlled temperature and occasionally on job sites in the field addressing project management and customer concerns. Remote work is a possibility for highly experienced candidates.
  • The normal workday will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  However, the hours may be long when specific situations require it, thus some extended schedules will be necessary. Working Weekends or after normal work hours may be required as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements
  • Select, measure and track important metrics
  • Visit sites, warehouses and other venues necessary to do the estimate
  • Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics
  • Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts
  • Conduct complex risk analysis activities
  • Create and present reports to upper management
  • Analyze and evaluate offers
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
  • Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Pay: $75,000 – 85,000 DOE
