Senior Accountant and Controller

A local financial services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant and Controller. For decades the team has been known for prioritizing client relationships, delivering personalized guidance, and maintaining a commitment to thoughtful risk management. 

The Senior Accountant and Controller blends hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic partnership, supporting the firm’s growth through clear financial insight and operational oversight. Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Lead all accounting operations, including oversight of internal processes and coordination with external vendors and partners
  • Manage QuickBooks functions, including revenue and expense recording, journal entries, and credit card activity
  • Oversee daily, monthly, and annual accounting cycles to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely tax filings
  • Administer payroll and employee benefits, supporting onboarding, 401(k) activities, and annual insurance renewals
  • Prepare financial projections, benchmarking data, and analysis to inform leadership decisions and support national ranking submissions
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes and internal controls while contributing to strategic projects that support long-term growth

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, payroll processes, and tax filing/payment requirements
  • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to an entrepreneurial, growth-focused team
